What began as an event to raise awareness of the quality and enormous gastronomic variety of Fuengirola, while at the same time helping establishments on a date when there is less public attendance, this year celebrates its tenth edition and has been consolidated as one of the most anticipated and essential events of the city. And it is that from November 1 to 18, Fuengirola will once again take its most sensual side to celebrate a new edition of the Erotic Cap Route. Thus, in the morning of today the official presentation of this gastronomic route took place in the Real Hall of the City Council in an act chaired by the mayor, Ana Mula, and which was attended by 35 representatives of the 72 participating establishments. For 2.5 euros diners can enjoy a drink and a very exotic tapa, created specifically for the occasion. In turn, and with the intention that it is an appointment for all types of audiences, there will be gluten-free, sweet and vegetarian tapas.
The event, which has become a claim of Fuengirola, consists of the elaboration by the participating bars and restaurants of a sensual and fun tapa, product of the imagination and the good work of the Fuengiroleño restaurateurs. That recipe is the one that participates in the contest and must be available to customers during the established days. In this sense, Ana Mula has highlighted the variety and quality of the tapas that participate in this edition, many of which have been unveiled in today’s presentation.
As for the election of the winning establishment of the Erotic Cap Route, at the request of the participants themselves and as in the last edition, a professional jury will decide the winning top among the ten finalists resulting from the votes of the public. The public will also be able to evaluate each of the tapas that they try on a scale of 1 to 5. In addition, this year there will be a special prize from the public to the best valued establishment, for which the corresponding trophy will be delivered.
On the other hand, the professional jury will determine the three winning establishments and the prize for the best presentation and the award for the winning establishment of a commercial, completely free, for one month on the local TV Fuengirola TV, and the Star is maintained. As for the public, as always there will be a big draw. Those who want to participate must fill in the so-called “TAPAporte” with 10 stamps from 10 different establishments and can deliver a maximum of five fillings per person. Just by handing out the duly stamped passport, participants will receive a surprise gift until supplies run out. These special documents can be removed in the municipal buildings (City Hall, House of Culture and Tourism Office), and in the participating establishments themselves. In total, as explained by the mayor, will be distributed 40,000 passports (for tourists, come Spanish and English) that can be delivered until November 20 at the Tourist Office
